Karas Kustoms EDK: My EDC Pen

So let’s talk about a sexy pen for a minute here.. Damn, not a thing I don’t like about it. The Karas Kustoms EDK pen was a pen I got recently that has climbed the ranks faster than any other pen in my EDC since the day it arrived. So lets get into the nitty-gritty.

Karas Kustoms EDK

I love everything about this pen and the company. Karas Kustoms is a US based manufacturing company that has grown in the pen company with it’s wild fire like Kickstarter campaigns. I love supporting US based companies just like any other citizen but these guys are wicked cool from Dan’s legendary beard to the Reel Big Fish album that can be heard playing in the background of their shop. Their products are amazing and when you obtain something from them like the EDK, Render K, or many other products you truly feel like you are a part of something bigger. It’s addicting. The day this bad boy arrived I threw in my favorite Schmidt p8126 refill (because you can’t have it any other way) and never looked back.

This pen is about 5 inches in length and not including the clip it is.435 inches in diameter. You have the options to purchase in tumbled finishes or tumbled and anodized aluminum, 1/2 aluminum and 1/2 copper or brass, or either all copper or all brass. I got the all aluminum in matte black and it’s friggin sweet. Even the click is an all metal design. The weight is perfect for me. I love having my pens a little on the heavy side because I don’t like having fragile feeling things with my think hands.

This pen has been designed to perfection. Even the machined grip section is smooth and unnoticeable when writing. I hate it when pens have a machined grip that is sharp and stabs into your fingers as you try to grip the pen. It is also pretty easy to refill because it easily unscrews in the middle of the body.

Cons

  • I reeeeeally had to be picky to find something I don’t like about this pen and it really isn’t that big of a deal but I kind of wish it wasn’t a silent click mechanism. I love the satisfaction of having a solid “click” sound like what can be found on the Pilot Vanishing Point.
